Online Images & Results

South West Radiology places our patients at the centre of our decision making. Our patients can securely access their images and results via our Patient Portal.

Images will be available on the same day as appointment. Reports are generally released to referring doctor within 24 hours.

Our patients will have access to their results 14 days after their appointment date at South West Radiology.

Preparation

Please arrive 10 MINUTES BEFORE your scheduled appointment but please allow time for traffic and parking.
There are fasting requirements for the following examinations:

1) CT/MRI Scans - if IV and/or oral contrast are indicated, please fast for at least 2 hours prior to the scan.
2) Ultrasound Abdomen - 8 hours full-fast (no food or drinks) prior to the exam.
We ask our patients to drink 1L of water exactly one (1) hour before the following scans:

1) US Pelvis - full bladder produces clear images of pelvic anatomy
2) US Obstetric Scan up to 30 weeks - full bladder produces clear images of your pelvic anatomy
To minimise the risk of bleeding, we recommend that you stop taking anti-coagulation or anti-platelet (blood-thinning) medication 5 DAYS PRIOR to your scheduled exam.

We advise all our patients to consult your GP and/or Physician prior to formally ceasing any medication.

Due to the superficial nature of bursa injections, we DO NOT recommend that you need to stop any medications.

2) Imaging Request Form (we accept all referrals from other radiology providers)
3) Previous x-rays or scans that relate to your scheduled exam
You may bring a family member or support person with you for reassurance and support.

Due to COVID-19, we only allow patients in the waiting room.

What to bring

Yes it is recommended that you make an appointment for all examinations to ensure you do need to wait.
Please refer to your specific examination in the services tab.
You will receive an SMS when your report is complete. On average, if you have a scan today, the result will be available the next business day (excludes MRI scans)
